Amy is highly knowledgeable and passionate about wine and teaching! She made what is actually a scientific and complex process, relatable, practical and easy to understand. As your wine guide, she shares helpful information about different types of wine, the nuances between old world and new world wine, and what pairings work best. I left the event empowered to now select a wine I will actually like and an understanding of how the food I am pairing with it may affect the taste. Amy always arrives at each event well-prepared and with a smile. Above all, Amy always demonstrates a strong enthusiasm for her work. What a wonderful time!

Amy’s depth of knowledge is impressive. From her knowledge of the grapes and how they are grown, to the process with which wine is made and aged, to how this translates to the flavor in the bottle. She is great at communicating and guiding people through their wine journey. I have learned vast amounts from her and she has enriched my education and appreciation for wine.

Amy’s passion for wine is inspiring and inclusive. There is always something for everyone! She has a talent for encouraging people to enjoy new varietals and explore the never ending diversity of wine. Not only does this keep us curious and playful, it inherently supports small scale wine makers and biodiversity in the wine industry. I learned more in 2 years working under Amy’s wine education than in the other 15 years I spent in the restaurant industry!

I have enjoyed tasting, drinking and learning about wine with Amy Haas for over twenty years. When other wine professionals are zigging, Amy is zagging. When most restauranteurs are clamoring for the next trendy Argentine Malbec, Amy is introducing her guests to Cahors. When most sommeliers are adding yet another Oregon Pinot Noir to their list, Amy is gleefully procuring Pinot Nero from Alto Adige. Equipped with a discerning, yet adventurous palate, Amy treads a path through the Wine World that looks to the future while remembering where and how that World came to be. Whether you are hiring Amy to create your wine list, train your staff or host an informal wine tasting in your home, she is sure to bring a wealth of knowledge and focus without ego or pretentiousness. Most importantly, Amy projects a positive and charming personality that punctuates her appreciation of wine and her conviction that wine is and should be, fun.

I’ve observed Amy tasting with sales reps as well as educating the M’Tucci’s staff, and she definitely has a fine palate and will help you with whatever level of wine education you seek.

Enjoy a glass of wine with Amy Haas and you will quickly realize that you are in the presence of someone who has a genuine passion for wine. I realized this ten years ago when I hired her to create the wine program at Farm & Table. I was impressed by her grounded approach which was refreshing in an industry that can be intimidating and sometimes even elitist. Amy embodies an honest and unpretentious philosophy around understanding, tasting, and ultimately enjoying wine. With over 20 years of experience Amy offers a deeper dive of wine by striping away preconceived notions to reveal subtleties and complexities that each wine has to offer. She challenges biases and guides folks to trust their palate and make their own distinctions about wine, in the end making wine exploration so much more enjoyable and empowering.
